Hiya, folks. After months of working hard, I started experiencing the symptoms of burnout. I was feeling depressed and overwhelmed. When I tried to push through work, I ended up catching a small cold. I decided I needed a break. Unfortunately, I've never been too good about keeping a buffer prepared, so that means it's going to take a bit until Slightly Damned resumes updating.
It's my goal to resume updating the comic by November 16. I'll do my best, but we'll see what con crud has to say about it. I want to see the story continue, too!
I'll be going to my very first Furpocalypse in Stamford, Connecticut (Oct 31 - Nov 4, 2024)! If you're in New England and are able, please drop by and say hello! I'll have all my convention wares with me as well as copies of Slightly Damned Book Three.
(Speaking of Book Three, I was told that the warehouse was scheduled to be finished with kitting as of the end of last week. Shipping to Kickstarter backers should commence shortly.)
Upcoming 2025 conventions:
Further Confusion - San Jose, CA (Jan 16-20)
VancouFur - Vancouver, British Columbia (March 6-9)
Confuzzled - Birmingham, United Kingdom (May 23-27)
Last, but certainly not least: did you notice that the Slightly Damned website has been given a slight facelift? Thanks to the hard work of Kiri from Hiveworks, not only have the menus been updated, but the Slightly Damned website can now support tags and transcripts! I'll be reaching out for volunteers to help transcribe the comic in the near future. There's over 1,000 pages to transcribe and tag... but I think the effort will be worth it to make the comic more accessible!
In the meantime, you can see that some fan translations of Slightly Damned are starting to be added, too. Right now we have volunteers hard at work on Brazilian Portuguese, Bulgarian, Czech, French, Spanish, and Polish! If you are interested in helping to translate Slightly Damned into your native language, then please contact me by emailing me at chu@raizap.com. Please keep in mind that this is unpaid volunteer work that requires enough understanding of image editing software to insert text into blank word balloons (blank pages will be provided).
Thanks as always for your patience and support!
